SAU SECURES CREDIT AGREEMENT FROM GOTHIC VENTURES TO ENSURE FALL SEMESTER SUCCESS

Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) announces the closing of a credit agreement with Gothic Ventures, making it eligible to receive up to $30 million. An initial allocation consists of a $7 million term loan funded at closing. Additional allocations may be provided in the future. This strategic partnership will enhance the university’s capacity to successfully commence the fall 2024 academic semester.

SAU REINSTATED AS SACSCOC MEMBER WITH UNANIMOUS REVERSAL DECISION

2024 brings another development involving one of North Carolina’s historically black colleges/universities (HBCUs). Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) celebrates a triumph as the arbitration committee appointed by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) decided to reverse the controversial decision to strip SAU of its membership. This reversal not only reinstates SAU’s membership but also validates the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.

SAU CONTINUES ITS FIGHT TO PRESERVE ACCREDITATION 

On Tuesday, February 20, Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) appeared before the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Appeals Committee. The case placed before them was to consider a reversal of the decision to remove Saint Augustine’s University from SACSCOC membership on December 3, 2023.

During Black History Month, a prominent historically black college/university (HBCU) in North Carolina takes a significant step towards maintaining its accreditation. Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) is proud to announce the launch of the Falcon Pride Initiative Fundraising Campaign, aimed at rallying the support of internal stakeholders, alums, friends, neighbors, and the HBCU community to demonstrate financial solvency for preserving its accreditation.

After a year of demonstrating significant strides, Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) continues its efforts toward maintaining its accreditation. During the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL, the SACSCOC Board of Trustees voted to remove SAU’s membership from their accrediting body.
